Campaign contributions can only be made by eligible individuals. An eligible individual must be a resident of British Columbia, and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Contributions cannot be made by organizations.
No. Campaign contributions to local elections candidates are not eligible for tax receipts.
For 2026, you can give a total of $1,429.70 to a local elections candidate or elector organization per campaign.
If you give $100 or more to a local elections candidate or elector organization, your name and contribution amount will be published in ElectionsBC’s Financial Reports and Political Contributions System (FRPC).
